Devised physical theatre now sits at the heart of modern theatre practice.
London International Mime Festival and The Point are hosting this five day intensive workshop. Central to this week will be the performers as collaborative makers of total theatre. The participants will explore the tools of eliciting, image creation, emergence, story structure and theme, to develop skills in the making of original and authentic theatre.
David will introduce his five-stage Creative Practice used by many theatre companies worldwide including Gecko (UK) and Theatre Ash (Hong Kong). It sets out a clear framework for allowing self-led companies to develop visceral and robust work.
David’s approach to teaching is provocative, playful, challenging and rigorous. There will be the additional opportunity of an artist’s dinner and to share work informally in the evenings.
This intensive is for people with some previous performance experience, either as theatre students or professionals.
